5 things I want in Metroid: Other M

Metroid and Team Ninja aren't typically words you'll utter in the same sentence. Since the famed Ninja Gaiden developer is working on the newest Wii Metroid title you can now expect the two to share more than the occasional mention. Taking the Metroid series in a new direction after the success of Prime series is risky, but with Team Ninja on the job we're sure it's going to rock. With that in mind here are 5 things that we hope Team Ninja incorporates into the new Metroid: Other M title.
5) Sword Action

Severing space pirates limb from limb with a high tech sword would be truly epic. Considering sword play is Team Ninja's wheelhouse, why not incorporate it into a Metroid title? While a sword is not really "canon" in the Metroid series, the thought of removing a space pirate's head with a swing of a sword has me giddy. Add in some Wii motion functionality and consider me sold.
4) Mother Brain

The antagonist of the Metroid universe has taken a backseat to her space pirate henchmen and Dark Samus in the Prime series. We know that Other M takes place directly after the events of Super Metroid (after Samus destroys Mother Brain with the help of the baby Metroid), but after resurrecting Ridley in every game, is it too much to hope she makes an appearance? Mother Brain has never received the narrative that she deserves, I want some insight into what is going on in that tub filled with grey matter. Even better if they take inspiration from the Captain N The Game Master cartoon and represent her as the slightly ghetto, lipstick wearing aberration seen above.
3) Kraid

Ridley gets all the attention in the Metroid series, but as the highest ranking space pirate it's justified. But what happened to that morbidly obese lizard that shoots spikes out of his stomach? As far as high ranking Space Pirates go, Kraid gets no respect. The above image shows Kraid as he was imagined in the Metroid Prime series, however he was cut due to time constraints. Just image how sweet it would have been going toe to toe with that gluttonous bastard. Let's hope Kraid gets the re imagining he deserves in Other M, stomach spikes and all.
